- 6:20 AM: G’day, ceiling clock! Turns out I’m a bit of a drongo and forgot to set the alarm. Ah well, 20 minutes late ain’t gonna hurt nobody (except maybe my stretching routine, which got the flick). Listenin’ to the rain, and fair dinkum, the weather bloke nailed it. Bleak as a kookaburra’s backside out there.
- 8:30 Morning Blues: Seriously, who wants to work in this weather? But gotta pay the bills, eh? Straight to the shop for a cuppa and a chinwag with the lads, then the phone starts ringin’ like a blue heeler at a barbie.
- 9:00 Tralee Lockout: First job’s a young sheila locked out. Easy peasy, a cheap lever set… until I pick it the wrong way, ya flamin’ galah! Lucky I’ve got my trusty sauber plug spinner to fix my stuff up. Door’s open, she’s happy, and I’m off like a frog in a sock.
- 10:00 Phillip Tower Tango: Another lockout, and of course, it’s rainin’ cats and dogs. These new units in Phillip have less parking than a roo in a phone booth. After three laps, I find a spot in the loading zone, cheers to whoever moved their car. Then a top bloke lets us use the lift to the 8th floor, savin’ me from climbin’ more stairs than a wombat on a mountain. My old foot’s givin’ me the evils, ya know? Under-door tool to the rescue, and bingo! Door’s open. Sometimes they’re a bit of a bugger but this one was a beauty.
- 11:00 O’Connor Rescue: Off to O’Connor, where the old houses move more than a politician’s promises. Main count bloke’s front door jam has shifted, but a quick strike adjustment on his Lockwood 001 and he’s right as rain.
- 12:00 Phillip Roller Door: Last job’s a garage door in Phillip. Roller door’s playin’ up, but a bit of frame adjustment and we’re sweet. Easy as!
- Day’s Wrap-Up: Turns out, it wasn’t a bad day at all. Jobs were a piece of cake, and I didn’t get too soaked. Not too bad for a day where I almost stayed in bed.
