Our apprentice thought the Mitsubishi Mirage remotes wouldn’t program. But when I checked the diagnostic tool, it showed the vehicle had, in fact, learned two remotes—though they weren’t locking or unlocking the car.
I then noticed the door ajar light was on the dash and the interior light was also on, even though all doors were closed. (The apprentice missed that little detail.) I explained this indicated an issue with the car, not the remotes.
We removed the door sensor switch and reinstalled it. Voilà! The door ajar and interior lights went out. The switch just needed a bit of earthing, so a quick cleanup and reinstallation did the trick.
Tested the remotes, and now they’re all working perfectly. Another job done, and another lesson learned!
